The Effect of Job Stress and Self-efficacy of Female Geriatric Caregivers on Caregiving Performance

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate job stress and self-efficacy of female caregivers on caregiving performance that were provided to demented elderly patients who were admitted to a nursing facility. The survey was conducted for about 3 months for nursing caregivers working in nursing facilities located in Daegu and Gyeongbuk. The results of this study are as follows. First, there was a statistically significant difference in age, religion, work experience, working style, health status, and knowledge on dementia education as a result of analyzing the level of caring performance according to the general characteristics of survey subjects. Second, the effects of job stress and self-efficacy on caregiving performance were found to be significant as the relationship with co-worker subscale variables and self-efficacy influenced caregiving performance
